CONTRACTING

Companies take on contractors to assist with short term staff shortages when they are unsure if the increased workload will justify taking on additional permanent staff.

When you are contracting, you are considered self employed. This can have it's advantages and disadvantages.

 • Contracting can be a good way to build up a wide range of experience.

 • Contracting gives you the opportunity to assess a company before committing to a  permanent position.

 • Short term contracts can often become long term or permanent positions.

 • Less taxes. You are responsible for taxes.

 • You get paid for the time you work. No holiday pay, sick leave, bereavement leave, or maternity leave. However, contractors are paid a higher hourly rate than permanent staff to compensate. You are paid for the all the hours you work.

Advantages of Contracting via A & S Consultants

 • A & S Consultants pay our contractors weekly, which means you will have a regular income.

 • A & S Consultants will negotiate on your behalf to ensure you are paid a fair rate.

 • A & S Consultants are regularly receiving new job orders allowing continuous contract work for our candidates.

 • A & S Consultants fee structure allows better rates for our contractors.
